Subaru and Panasonic Start Talks to Build Partnership for EV Battery Supply

All we know so far: Subaru and Panasonic Energy are holding discussions on Panasonic Energy supplying them with next-generation automotive cylindrical lithium-ion batteries, and Subaru installing these batteries in EVs produced around 2025.
Subaru has a new BEV plant scheduled for construction in Gunma, Japan, which Panasonic Energy hopes to snag a supplier partnership for.
Subaru is accelerating its electrification and other initiatives by setting a roadmap toward 2050, with the aim of contributing to the realization of a carbon-neutral society.
