Splitvolt’s new Splitter SwitchTM allows EV chargers to use existing 30 amp dryer circuits, eliminating new circuit installation

Splitvolt has announced its next-generation Splitter Switch, a product made for users to share an existing 30 amp dryer circuit for EV charging, eliminating the need for a new circuit installation.
It includes an internal safety circuit breaker to ensure that the EV charger does not exceed maximum National Electrical Code (NEC) safe-charging limits or stress a home’s electrical wiring. The product is cETLus safety listed by Intertek (5021938), conforming to UL STD(s) 60730-1 and certified to CSA STD E60730-1 for Splitter Switch models SPS C1-011, SPS C2-022, and SPS C2-032.
The Splitter Switch also features a new stylized, black design that fits well with home environments. It provides real-time power and status display for easy access to charging information. An additional safety measure is the manual override power-off switch. The product also includes a flexible ‘pigtail’ power cord, allowing for safe and accessible placement of the splitter switch.
