Siemens and Voltaiq teaming up to optimize battery manufacturing

Siemens Digital Industries Software,  a provider of software, hardware, and services for digital transformation, has announced a collaboration with Voltaiq, a battery intelligence solutions provider.

The partnership aims to accelerate battery manufacturing by integrating Siemens’ Insights Hub and Voltaiq’s Enterprise Battery Intelligence (EBI). This combination will offer battery manufacturers the ability to rapidly scale operations from initial testing to full-scale production lines.

Siemens’ Insights Hub and Voltaiq’s suite of battery-specific monitoring, visualization, and advanced analytics capabilities will provide customers with an end-to-end solution for managing and optimizing battery cell manufacturing. The joint solution will focus on the critical finishing stage of battery production, which constitutes a significant portion of production costs and time. The solution aims to reduce the risk associated with late-stage production issues, where yield and profitability are most likely to decrease. The global demand for battery-powered products is increasing, with experts predicting a 14-fold increase in battery demand between 2018 and 2030. This surge in demand presents several challenges for battery manufacturers, including quality control, production efficiency, waste reduction, and cost minimization.
