SERMA Group lands 6-year battery testing deal with ACC

France-based testing company SERMA Group and Automotive Cells Company (ACC), a manufacturer of battery cells and modules for electric vehicles, have announced a six-year strategic partnership.

SERMA will conduct electrical and abuse tests for ACC on batteries developed by the R&D Expertise Center in Bruges. This continues a successful collaboration between the two companies that has spanned over two years.

SERMA is expanding its test capacity dedicated to the validation of electric vehicle powertrains, reinforcing its role in addressing the future challenges of the automotive industry. A new test center, situated in Martillac near Bordeaux, will span over 6,500m² and is set to employ 45 new staff members. The center is expected to be operational by the end of 2024, with the first tests commencing in 2025.
