Serma expands into the United States and acquires Texas-based Microtech Laboratories

Serma continues its expansion by acquiring Microtech Laboratories, a lab offering a wide range of services such as decapsulation or micro sectioning, reverse engineering, schematic extraction, failure analysis and construction of electronic components and printed circuits, as well as associated consulting and training.
The acquisition will enable Serma to extend its offer of analysis, design and consulting services beyond its 6 laboratories established in France. They aim to strengthen their presence across the Atlantic. Initially, the company aims to become a major local player in the field of electronic analysis laboratories. Following, they plan to grow their other businesses such as engineering, development and repair of embedded systems, microelectronics design and assembly, characterisation and testing of energy systems, systems safety and reliability.
This acquisition also gives Microtech Laboratories the opportunity to draw on Serma’s resources to expand into Europe, offering its reverse engineering and schematic extraction services to a broader base of customers.
