Renesas Extends Its AIoT Leadership with Integration of Reality AI Tools and e² studio IDE

– Renesas Electronics Corporation has integrated its Reality AI Tools® with its e² studio integrated development environment, enabling seamless data sharing and faster design cycles for AI and machine learning applications at the edge of IoT networks.– The company is also providing cross-platform project awareness, building an internal library of application examples, and will host an online event focused on AI-related topics on October 12, 2023.

Renesas Electronics Corporation announced the creation of interfaces between its Reality AI Tools® and e² studio integrated development environment. This integration allows designers to share data, projects, and AI code modules between the two programs, facilitating faster design cycles for AI and machine learning applications at the edge and endpoint of IoT networks.

Modules for real-time data handling have been integrated into Renesas MCU Software Development Kits to facilitate data collection from Renesas kits or customer hardware that use these microcontrollers. Since acquiring Reality AI in 2022, Renesas has been improving and simplifying AI design. Users can now explore sensor data automatically and generate optimized models using Reality AI Tools.

A seamless data pipeline has been established between Reality AI Tools and the e² studio environment used to program Renesas MCUs. Sensor data collected from Renesas MCU development kits can now be transferred to associated projects in Reality AI Tools at the push of a button. Users also have the ability to download and integrate AI/ML classifiers generated in Reality AI Tools from within e² studio.

Renesas is not only enabling data transfers but also providing cross-platform project awareness between embedded and AI environments. Users can synchronize and transfer lists of projects in e² studio from Reality AI Tools. They can associate an e² studio project with a Reality AI Tools project and create a new Reality AI Tools project from within e² studio.

Renesas is constructing a library of application examples and reference solutions for specific use-cases, including real-time analytics, vision and voice applications. On October 12, 2023, Renesas will present an online event focused on AI-related topics.

These advancements by Renesas Electronics Corporation will significantly influence the speed and efficiency of designing AI and machine learning applications for electric vehicles. The cross-platform project awareness will streamline the development process, potentially leading to more advanced and efficient electric vehicle technologies.
