Lotus Emeya completes final stage of test and development program

Lotus has completed their three-year test and development cycle for its all-electric grand tourer, the Emeya.

The Emeya was tested on a variety of terrains and conditions, from the UK’s challenging B-roads to the German autobahn, through the highest Alpine passes and the remoteness of Inner Mongolia. The vehicle also underwent testing at race tracks such as the Nürburgring Nordschleife and at proving grounds like the high-speed loop near the southern Italian town of Nardò.

The program, which spanned 15 countries across two continents, concluded with a cold-weather validation program in the Arctic Circle, confirming the Emeya’s performance in harsh conditions, including temperatures as low as -40 degrees Celsius.

Additional in-market testing will take place in the Middle East, United States, and Australia ahead of deliveries in these markets.

As Lotus transitions to become an all-electric tech-focused luxury performance brand, the company has made it a priority to ensure that the Emeya drives like a true Lotus. The vehicle features advanced control systems and four-wheel drive, excelling in stability, handling and control, even in extreme weather.
