Kempower receives Intertek Testing certification, will produce DC fast chargers in North Carolina

Kempower, a Finnish manufacturer of DC fast-chargers for electric vehicles, has received ‘Electrical Testing Laboratories’ (ETL) certification from Intertek Testing Laboratories, allowing them to begin production at their new North American facility.
The ETL Listed Marking is a certified indicator that Kempower’s satellites have been tested by Intertek and found compliant with accepted national standards. Kempower established its North America site in Durham, NC in the Spring of 2023.
“Now that the ETL certification is in place, we are preparing for an influx in preorders for 2024 as we increase our product availability, with a target to match current production levels at our flagship headquarters in Lahti, Finland from which Kempower delivered approximately 10,000 charging points in 2022,” said Marcus Suvanto, Director Operations & Business Development, Kempower North America.
“This is a major milestone for our company, specifically for production that can now officially take place here at our production site in Durham,” said Tim Joyce, President of Kempower North America. “ETL certification gives Kempower authorization to produce and ship complete charging stations from our new facility, opening a door for large-scale mass production and distribution,” said Joyce.
“We are thankful to our current customers around the globe who have been receiving shipments from our headquarters in Finland allowing us to tailor to their specific fast-charging DC satellite needs; now we can duplicate this high-level of production and service to new customers who choose to partner with us to speed up the electric evolution,” said Tomi Ristimäki, CEO Kempower.
