Global airport operator Fraport and Lilium to collaborate on development of commercial eVTOL network

Fraport, an airport operator, and Lilium N.V., a developer of the first all-electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) jet, have announced a strategic collaboration to explore the necessary planning and approval steps for implementing commercial eVTOL operations at airports. Fraport operates at 30 international airports across four continents.
The partnership aims to prepare Germany and the industry for the introduction of regional electric air mobility. This will be achieved by working with industry groups and the German government to discuss and accelerate necessary regulatory work. Fraport and Lilium will analyze future mobility concepts for vertiport networks suitable for electric aircraft and examine potential vertiport concepts for this type of mobility, particularly at and around airports.
