GaN Systems Verifies Continuity of Supply of Leading GaN Power Products

– GaN Systems confirms uninterrupted supply of GaN power products despite China’s export control measures on gallium and germanium-related semiconductor raw materials.– GaN-on-Silicon wafer production will not be directly affected due to multiple sources of gallium worldwide.
GaN Systems, a global leader in GaN (gallium nitride) power semiconductors, assures the continuity of its leading GaN power products amidst export control measures. On July 3, 2023, China’s Ministry of Commerce and General Administration of Customs announced these measures on gallium- and germanium-related semiconductor raw materials, effective from August 1. However, GaN Systems’ GaN-on-Silicon wafer supplier has confirmed that the export restrictions will not directly impact wafer production as there are multiple sources of gallium worldwide.
With this confirmation, GaN Systems anticipates no significant effect on material supplies that could disrupt its ability to provide products to its customers. The company holds an extensive transistor portfolio addressing various demanding industries including consumer electronics, data center servers, power supplies, renewable energy systems, industrial motors, and automotive electronics. Their award-winning products allow for the design of smaller, cost-effective, more efficient power systems without the limitations of traditional silicon.
This development ensures the steady supply of essential components for electric vehicle electronics engineers in their pursuit of designing efficient power systems.
