FEV and dSPACE cooperate in worldwide integration of power HIL test benches

– FEV and dSPACE have entered a technology partnership to provide customized power HIL test benches for automotive industry customers.– The collaboration will deliver turn-key solutions for the validation of power electronics assemblies, including full electrical power tests and comprehensive software validation.

FEV, a top-tier engineering provider in the automotive industry, and dSPACE, a leading provider of simulation and validation solutions, have announced a technology partnership. The collaboration agreement allows both companies to deliver customized power HIL test benches for automotive industry customers, perfectly integrated into test centers.

The partnership between FEV and dSPACE allows for global planning and implementation of turn-key solutions for validating power electronics assemblies. This includes full electrical power tests as well as full software validation. Their services range from facility planning to hardware and software provision and integration, all the way to commissioning.

FEV brings its extensive knowledge as a global development service provider in the automotive test bench sector, sophisticated automation, and real-time solutions. Its MORPHEE automation system is a proven test bench software that is tailored to customer needs. The latest version of MORPHEE can measure five million individual values per second in real-time, which is vital for e-mobility application test benches to detect and verify phenomena like battery charging/discharging behavior.

dSPACE complements this with decades of HIL experience and established power HIL test systems, ready for testing and validating power electronics assemblies at full power.

Philippe Lacassagne, Director Business Development at FEV test systems, said “We bring a solution with superior performance, better value for money and unrivalled flexibility and openness to the market.” Additionally, Dr. Herbert Schütte, Executive Vice President at dSPACE mentioned that “Our global customers will benefit from technologically leading Power HIL technology that is seamlessly integrated into the dSPACE HIL world with its extensive real-time models, enabling intuitive test automation.”

This partnership will accelerate the validation of power electronics assemblies, contributing to the advancement of electric vehicle technology.
