EVCS secures $100 million in public funding to rollout DC fast chargers on West Coast

EVCS, an electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging network, has secured commitments for over $100 million in public funding.

They’ll use the new funding to develop, install, and operate over 500 new DC Fast chargers across California, Oregon, and Washington. The expansion will extend the EVCS public charging network into over 70 new cities, bringing the total number of DC Fast chargers to more than 1,200.

The new chargers will be strategically placed at various locations such as gyms, hotels, libraries, and entertainment centers. Select sites for LA Fitness, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Marriott International, and Town and Country Resort will be included. Construction is set to commence in 2024 and continue through 2026. This next phase of network expansion will further enhance EVCS’ ability to match charging supply with current and future demand, ensuring optimal utilization.
