EV charging network IONNA set to begin operations in North America, the network is formed by BMW, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, and Stellantis

IONNA, a joint venture formed by seven major automakers, has received regulatory approval to commence operations in North America.
The venture, which includes BMW, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, and Stellantis, plans to establish a high-powered EV charging network across the content. The company aims to deploy a minimum of 30,000 chargers, with the first charging stations expected to open in the U.S. in 2024, followed by Canada.
IONNA’s charging network will be accessible to all electric vehicles with NACS or CCS connectors. The company aims to provide a seamless, vehicle-integrated charging experience by offering various amenities, such as restrooms, food service, and retail operations nearby or within the same complex, digital integration, and appealing locations. The network’s functions and services will facilitate seamless integration with participating automakers’ in-vehicle and in-app experiences, encompassing reservations, intelligent route planning and navigation, payment applications, transparent energy management, and additional features.
