Enpower Greentech’s new batteries show a 73% range increase to class-1 EV during tests

Battery maker Enpower Greentech has installed and tested their semi-solid-state batteries in a class-1 commercial EV.

The 72kWh “Swift” (the battery brand name) EV pack was installed and increased the class-1 EV’s range from 110 to 190 miles under the same dimensional constraint. The pack also passed multiple tests that will lead to B-Samples. The Swift battery has been in full commercial production since early November 2023.

The company plans to manufacture its American-made batteries and packs in Ann Arbor, Michigan in late 2024.

Dr. Yong Che, CTO and Co-founder at Enpower Greentech, said “A 73% range boost should encourage OEM manufacturers to consider how they can provide an energy/safety matrix to their end-users and help speed the adoption of e-mobility.”
