Electrovaya receives UL functional safety approval for its Gen 5 battery management system

The GEN V Battery Management System (BMS) has been evaluated for conformity with UL 991, related to safety controls using Solid-State devices, and UL 1998, which addresses software in programmable components.
The GEN V BMS has a robust design that has withstood years of rigorous operational conditions without any failures or safety incidents. The hardware and software are internally developed, and tailored to specific application requirements. The new BMS platform also includes remote capabilities for battery monitoring and advanced Fleet/Warehouse battery analytics facilitated by EVISION, enhancing its utility in fleet and warehouse management contexts.
Electrovaya Inc. designs, develops, and manufactures proprietary lithium-ion batteries and battery systems for energy storage and heavy-duty electric vehicles based on its Infinity Battery Technology Platform. Electrovaya is also developing next-generation solid-state battery technology at its Labs division. The company is headquartered in Ontario, Canada, with two operating sites in Canada and a 52-acre site with a 135,000 square foot manufacturing facility in New York state for its planned gigafactory.
