dSPACE unveils RCP and HIL development system for ECUs, electric motors, and more

dSPACE has introduced the MicroLabBox II, a new all-in-one development system for laboratories in research, education, and industry. The MicroLabBox II is designed to meet the increasing demands for capability and versatility in rapid control prototyping (RCP) or simple hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) applications. The system combines high calculation speed and versatility in a compact enclosure.

The MicroLabBox II is equipped with a powerful quad-core processor that enables fast execution of sophisticated Simulink models. It also offers a freely programmable FPGA for faster control loops or high-precision simulation models, such as those used for the simulation of electric motors. The system includes comprehensive I/O interfaces that meet the needs of developers prototyping algorithms. With the dSPACE experiment software ControlDesk, users can access model signals for visualization and measurement purposes and modify model parameters.

The MicroLabBox II allows for quick and easy setup of control, test, or measurement applications and the implementation of individual concepts. With over 100 I/O channels of various types, the MicroLabBox II is a versatile system that can be used in a wide range of fields, including mechatronic research and development, controller development for electric drives, power electronics, renewable energies, aerospace, robotics, and medical engineering. The MicroLabBox II can also be used as a simple and quickly deployable HIL system for ECU tests.
