Circontrol’s new fast charging station, Raption Compact 80

Circontrol, a manufacturer of electric vehicle (EV) chargers, has launched the Raption Compact 80, the latest addition to the Raption Series.

This new EV DC fast charging station joins the previous Raption Compact 240 and Raption Compact 160. It can charge up to 80 kW and 266 A in Boost mode when charging a single vehicle, regardless of the EV’s voltage. Its simultaneous charging feature, which splits the available power into 40 kW per plug, provides versatility for both EV charger owners and users, enabling up to 80 km of charge in 10 minutes.

The charger is suitable for various market segments, including service stations, shopping centers, fleets, car dealers, and public charging infrastructures.

The Raption Compact 80 features a modular architecture with its high-efficiency power integrated inside the charger. This configuration offers benefits such as cost-effective installation and maintenance. The charger also benefits from the enhanced user experience of the entire new Raption range, including a durable 15-inch touchscreen that is easy to read in daylight (1800 nits brightness) due to its WLED technology. The screen is designed to prevent vandalism, with an IK10 mechanical resistance degree.

The Raption Compact 80 has positioned its holders at a 90-degree angle for easy plugging and unplugging of cables. It also features an optional assisted cable management accessory, which aids in moving and collecting cables, providing a better experience and increased security. The charger comes with an integrated contactless payment system, offering flexibility to both charger owners and users.

Like other members of the Raption family, the Raption Compact 80 can be integrated with other Circontrol charging management solutions, such as Dynamic Load Management (DLM) for automatic power balancing between different charging stations, and the management platform COSMOS.

The latest Raption Series meets the specific requirements set by various countries’ legislations. According to European standards, the screen and the holders have been placed in a lower position to ensure accessibility for handicapped individuals. Circontrol’s new chargers also offer an optional DC meter in markets where it is in demand.
