Circontrol unveils 240kW EV chargers

Circontrol, an electric vehicle (EV) charging station manufacturer, is expanding its Raption Series with the addition of a new 240 kW charging station.

The new product build on the Raption Compact 160, which was launched in June 2023 at Power2Drive in Munich.

Both Raption products feature a larger touchscreen of up to 15 inches, utilizing WLED technology for better daylight readability (1800 nits brightness) and durability. The screen is also IK10-rated for mechanical resistance to help prevent vandalism. The interface has been updated with new icons and additional data for users, such as current charging power and charging voltage.

The Raption series has repositioned its holders to a 90-degree angle for easier cable plugging and unplugging. The Raption Compact 240 and 160 also offer an optional assisted cable management system to enhance user experience and safety. Like the previous generation, Circontrol’s DC chargers continue to offer multiple integrated contactless payment systems, providing flexibility for charge point owners.

The new Raption Compact 240 surpasses its predecessors, the Raption 150 Compact and Raption 200, in terms of power. It also integrates its power modules inside the charger, offering an all-in-one solution.

The latest Raption Series products are compliant with European standards, with screen and holders positioned lower for accessibility for handicapped individuals. The new chargers also offer an optional DC meter in markets where it is in demand.

Circontrol is also developing a fast DC dual-charging product, set to be released in early 2024. This is part of the company’s preparation for 2025, when the European Union will require a fast-charging station to be installed every 60 km.
