CATL’s Shenxing battery wins the AUTOBEST 2024 award

CATL has been awarded the TECHNOBEST 2024 award for its Shenxing battery by the international jury panel of AUTOBEST. This marks the first time a battery product has received this award, and CATL is the first China-based company to earn this title. The Shenxing battery was recognized for its innovative features, including its superfast charging capability and high energy density.

The Shenxing battery, launched by CATL, is the world’s first 4C superfast charging LFP battery. It can deliver a driving range of 400 km with a 10-minute charge and over 700 km on a single full charge. This innovation is expected to significantly reduce fast charging anxiety for EV users and heralds a new era of EV superfast charging. CATL’s focus on electrochemistry has led to advancements in material and system structure, resulting in a battery that offers superfast charging, high energy density, and a high level of safety.

The Shenxing battery was introduced in August and is expected to reach mass production by the end of the year. CATL has already established partnerships with various OEMs, including NETA, CHERY, BAIC BJEV, JIDU, and VOYAH, to supply the Shenxing battery. Electric vehicles equipped with the Shenxing battery are expected to hit the market in the first quarter of 2024.

AUTOBEST, one of Europe’s most prestigious auto juries, has been awarding innovative technologies in the automotive industry since 2001. The jury conducts comprehensive tests, including on-road and on-track driving sessions, to select the award winners each year. The TECHNOBEST award is one of the oldest and most respected awards, dedicated to recognizing and celebrating cutting-edge technologies in the automotive industry.
