British Army Land Rovers to be powered by Electrogenic’s retrofits

Electrogenic has been chosen in collaboration with Babcock International Group, a UK defense company, to convert four British Army Land Rovers to all-electric drive. This project is part of a contract with the Ministry of Defence (MOD) to explore the potential and limitations of electric propulsion in defense applications.

The conversion will involve two protected vehicles and two general service vehicles, using Electrogenic’s standard Land Rover Defender E90 conversion kits. Following launch, the vehicles will undergo testing by the Armoured Trials and Development Unit (ATDU) in various experimental battlefield and military scenarios. These tests will evaluate the vehicles’ performance in steep terrain, wading and towing, and different climate-related conditions.

Electrogenic’s technology offers complete control over every element of the electric drivetrain, which enhances performance, especially in adverse conditions and off-road. This makes it a suitable choice for military vehicles. The same technology is also available to customers through Electrogenic’s growing network of partner installers worldwide.
