Arizona deploys first electric fire truck, built by REV Group

Mesa’s first all-electric fire truck, manufactured by E-ONE®, a subsidiary of REV Group, Inc., is now operational.
The pumper truck, stationed at Fire Station 221 in southeast Mesa, is part of the Mesa Fire and Medical Department’s initiative to reduce toxin exposure for firefighters. This electric fire truck is the first of its kind in Arizona and aligns with the City of Mesa’s Climate Action Plan, which aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
It can pump four hose lines at 750 gallons per minute for four hours on a single charge, ensuring continuous emergency response when required. The Fire Station (station #221) is equipped with a charging station that can fully recharge the truck in about 3.5 hours.
The funding for Mesa’s all-electric fire truck comes from 2018 bonds approved by voters and the City’s General Fund.
E-ONE is a fire apparatus manufacturer that produces emergency vehicles, rescue trucks, aerial fire trucks, rescue pumpers, and custom fire apparatus. It is headquartered in Ocala, Florida. E-ONE is owned by the REV Group, which designs and manufactures specialty vehicles and related aftermarket parts and services.
