Aradex releases new inverter and motor for EVs

ARADEX unveiled its latest products, the VP600 x8WAxx Double Inverter and VM622-18W0300 motor as part of their “Evolution” series.

VP600 x8WAxx Double Inverter:This Double Inverter is designed for traction and function drives and comes in different models, suitable for two motors or connected in parallel for one large motor. It is optimized for applications with higher quantities and offers an extended power spectrum.

The VP600 x8WAxx Double Inverter series has a high overload capability for 10 minutes, allowing up to 50% higher power for this duration. This is made possible by the integrated overload function, which provides variable overload options for different times. For instance, it can deliver about +50% power in relation to the continuous power for 10 minutes.

The product also features a combination of FPGA and microcontroller for fast and precise control of current, flux, torque, and speed. This is achieved through ARADEX FPGA technology, ensuring optimum system efficiency across the entire operating range.

In terms of software and connectivity, the VP600-x8WAxx series is compatible with the software functionality of the well-known VP600 series-3 inverters from ARADEX. The device can be upgraded with ARADEX technology modules or customized solutions.

ARADEX offers three models of the VP600 x8WAxx Double Inverter:

– 28WA44 for 2 motors, 420 Arms 60s peak each– 28WA77 for 2 motors, 600 Arms 60s peak each– 18WA78 for one motor, 900 Arms 60s peak

VM622-18W0300 Motor:The VM622-18W0300 motor is characterized by peak torques of up to 3000 Nm and continuous power in the 150 kW range. It also offers the option of direct coupling to cardan shafts. This makes the motor particularly suitable for various traction applications, as well as for powerful functional drives.

Aradex is offering this motor exclusively in combination with its VECTOPOWER inverters, and it includes an optimized parameter set.
