23 Ebusco 3.0 buses for Stadtwerke Potsdam

Ebusco has entered into a contract with Verkehrsbetrieb Potsdam (ViP) to supply 10 Ebusco 3.0 12-metre buses and 13 Ebusco 3.0 18-metre buses.

The 12-metre buses will be equipped with a low floor, three doors, and a battery pack exceeding 350 kWh. The 18-metre buses will feature four doors and a battery pack surpassing 500 kWh. Each bus will also be fitted with a pantograph, a unique feature for the Ebusco 3.0 model. The buses are expected to begin service in the Potsdam area in 2025.

ViP operates a fleet of 59 buses and transports over 30 million passengers annually. The company, along with Stadtwerke Potsdam, is committed to reducing the 5,000 tons of CO2 emissions from bus transportation, to achieve emission-free operation by 2031. The order of 23 Ebusco 3.0 buses is the first step towards this goal.

Ebusco and ViP have jointly developed an infrastructure based on pantograph charging. This marks the first time Ebusco will incorporate a pantograph into the 3.0 model, although they’ve implemented this with many of their Ebusco 2.2 models.
